Scope Emissions

Categories of greenhouse gas emissions:
– Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Emissions from sources directly owned or controlled by the company, such as fuel combustion in company vehicles or emissions from company-owned manufacturing plants.

– Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions – Energy Purchase): Emissions from the generation of electricity, steam, heating, and cooling consumed by the company. Although the company might not generate these, they result from the energy the company purchases.

– Scope 3 (Indirect Emissions – Value Chain): Emissions resulting from a company’s activities but occurring from sources not owned or controlled by the company, such as emissions from suppliers, employee commuting, or use of sold products by consumers.
